Inside Line Promotions – WORTHAM, Texas (Oct. 12, 2020) – Terrific competition and genuine sportsmanship highlighted an exciting year of racing for the Lone Star Mower Racing Association at Camp Shayla. The series featured 10 different series champions along with a dozen other awards following the recently completed 2019-2020 campaign. The series champions in alphabetical order include: Crystal Gill (AP), John Howard (FXS), Joe Hopkins (BP), Steven Kehlenbrink (SP), Marion Neel (FXT), Sammie Neel (FX), Dusty Newsom (GP), Curtis O’Brien (CP), Julie Tynmann (GPT) and Nolan Zimmerman (JP). Additional accolades include: Richard Lively and Marion Neel were honored with Lifetime Membership Awards; Camp Shayla Mower Speedway was named the Best Racing Venue; O’Brien was the Charles Powell Award winner; Annsley Howard was Driver of the Year; Austin Zimmerman was Rookie of the Year; Patti Akin was the Spirit and Spark Award winner; Newsom was the Crying Towel Award winner; Marion Neel won the Best Looking Mower Award; Debbie Hobbs won the Topsy Turvy Award; Doyal Rice won the Dubba G Everyman Award; and Nolan Zimmerman and Brayden Newsom were honored with the Best Sportsmanship Award. The 2020-2021 season kicks off this Saturday at Camp Shayla.
