The LSMRA had CRAZY FUN racing in GBC, TX this past Saturday (6/26/2021). The races were rescheduled to a morning race starting at 9:30 am. That was a great decision for racers and spectators. We BEAT THE HEAT! The cloud cover was PERFECT! Thanks to Paul Lyons and George Dechaume for their work on the track. Paul was busy with preparations days prior to the race and he and George groomed the track as we raced. It was as “Smooth as Tennessee Whiskey”! As Paul said, “It is a RACER’S track!” With the perfect amount of water and that handy, dandy rolling machine, they had all racers grinning from ear to ear! We try our best to keep all UH-OH’s to a minimum, and at very best, to NONE. This weekend’s uh-oh goes to Blane Counsil being T-Boned by Wayne Turner (GPS Class). Wayne got a little loose in TURN 2 and … oops. All is well that ends well. Blane walked away with an extremely sore tail bone and a broken axle (on his mower – LOL). Wayne is in need of a new hood. Both are ready to race another day … soon. Texas State Championships will be determined on September 5, 2021. Stay tuned for this season’s results.
