Charles Powell was the President of the LSMRA from 2001 until 2005 when he died unexpectedly, and way too soon. Charles was also the USLMRA Vice President of Operations. He was the winner of the 2005 Pain in the Butt Award and simply, Mr. Mowjangles. Charles was a tireless and MOWtivated racer, Staff Member, Chapter President, Chief Steward and key leader of the USLMRA. He implemented the Local Chapter system, designed our membership database, provided guidance for new Chapters, and updated the Annual Rulebook. Charles was buried in his USLMRA Chief Stewart Shirt and a signed LSMRA cap. Charles raced in the A/P and S/P Classes with numerous trophies both in Local Chapter races and National racing.
